LaShon Vincent Rutledge

LaShon Vincent Rutledge Sr., 51 years of age of Forest Park, IL passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024. LaShon (Shon) was born in Chicago, IL on May 15, 1973 to Carolyn Marsh and Rev. Lamont V. Rutledge. Shon is the eldest child of both sets of his siblings. Shon gave his life to the LORD at an early age. He attended Christ Tabernacle M.B Church in his early years under the leadership of Rev. Milton Brunson. He went on to join Word of Truth Gospel Center Global where he served as an Armor-bearer to Bishop T.C. McBeth, Sr. In his later years, he joined Heritage International Christian Church under the leadership of Bishop Dwight Gunn. Shon grew up on the Westside of Chicago. Shon attended Crown Community Academy of Fine Arts Grammar School and went on to graduate from Farragut High School in 1991. Shon attended Phillips Business College of Chicago from 1991 – 1993. Shon also attended Kendall College from 2010 – 2012 where he majored in Psychology. Shon was a dedicated Special Education Teacher’s Aide with nearly 20 years of experience working in individual student learning settings, coupled with over 2 years of Home Care experience. Shon held positions at AmeriCorp, Veteran’s Park District, Crown Community Academy, Home Health Care Aide, Department of Human Services, Phillip J. Rock Center and Proviso Area for Exceptional Children (PAEC Center). At PAEC Shon was a Paraprofessional/Teacher’s assistant for 15 years. Shon was an integral part of the PAEC team, he built meaningful friendships with colleagues and families throughout the PAEC community. He also served as a coach for the Special Olympics. Shon loved to fire up the grill and use his secret sauce, of which he never gave anyone the recipe too. He had a love for music and DJ’ing, he was a for real House Head. He also had a love for sports. The love of Shon’s life was his son LJ. Shon was a dedicated father. You rarely saw him without his son. Shon was preceded in death by his mom Carolyn Marsh, Grandfather, Harris Rutledge and Fiancé Jaqueline Kouba. Shon leaves to cherish his memory: his son LaShon Vincent Rutledge Jr. (LJ), stepchildren Tyler, Danielle and Aubriana. Father, Rev. Lamont V. Rutledge, Siblings; Pamela A.
