Larry Williams Obituary
His infectious grin, goofy humor, headstrong nature, and larger than-life personality brought endless joy and laughter to those who knew him well. Our dearly loved LARRY WILLIAMS, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born into this life on November 23, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Thomas and Dan Menefee; son, Kevin Williams; siblings, Linda Williams and Roy Menefee; and ex-wife, Francis Williams. While those who loved Larry wish they had more time with him, they trust in God’s perfect timing. Larry truly lived a full and happy life, leaving behind a legacy of wonderful memories. Larry was the ultimate host. He loved to cook, loved to entertain, and absolutely lived for the moments when everyone was gathered together. He often stopped by his siblings’ houses just to hang out, make popcorn, and catch a movie. He also loved spending time with his son, Gary, watching sports and arguing about which team is the best. For Larry, those simple moments were the best moments; and out of all his accomplishments in life, nothing made him prouder than being a father to his children. Larry was educated through the Chicago public school system, where he received his diploma from Cregier Vocational High School. He worked for over 25 years in manufacturing for various companies such as Allied Radio Company and Mars Candy Factory. He also worked as a cook for Human Enhancement. Larry loved God and was a born-again Christian who accepted Christ into his life, and was a member of the Lively Stone M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus William Jenkins, Sr. After a long battle with illness, Larry passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Larry leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Gary and Larry Jr. (LaShon); one daughter, Miesha; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Joshua, Josiah, Larry, LaRisha, Kyra, and Lauren; three sisters, Brenda (Alex), Martha, and Ruth; three brothers, Dan (Michelle), Robert, and Bruce (Laverne); three great-grandchildren; fifty eighty nieces and nephews (four who have preceded him in death); a companion, Betty Devine; and a host of other relatives and friends
