Lashunn Rouse Obituary

LASHUNN DORIS ROUSE, aectionately known
as “Punkin,” of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on
September 28, 2025.
Lashunn was born on January 20, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois,
to the late Charles and Ernestine Crosby. She attended Edwin
Forman High School, where she graduated with the class of
1991.
On May 27, 2005, Lashunn married Roynaldi Stovall (Roy),
and together they lovingly raised their son, Roynaldi Jr. (RJ).
Her beloved husband, Roy, preceded her in death.
In later years, Lashunn found love and companionship again
with Brian Neals, who remained faithfully by her side.
Lashunn dedicated her life to helping others. She worked
for 15 years at Oak-Leyden Developmental Center, and
altogether devoted over 25 years to serving individuals with
developmental disabilities. Her compassion, patience, and
gentle spirit le a lasting impact on everyone she worked with
and cared for.
“Punkin” was known for her vibrant personality, infectious
laughter, and deep love for her family. She brought joy to
everyone who knew her and will be remembered for her
kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she
loved.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving devoted son
Roynaldi Jr. (RJ); niece, Carrisa Rouse; bonus son, Leland
Stovall; siblings, Hattie, Charles, Jr. (Alicia), and Jeannetta
(Jerome); extended family; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her
presence, laughter, and love.
Lashunn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and
Ernestine Crosby; and siblings, Shirlean and James.
