Leontrey Cornelius Taylor Jr., a ectionately known as Munchie, was born to Camilla Pollock-Harris and Leontrey C. Taylor, Sr., on March 5, 1996, at University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Leontrey accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Munchie attended Ella Flagg Young Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois. A er graduating from Young, Munchie attended Muchin College Prep in Chicago, Illinois, and later transferred to Marshall Metro High School in Chicago, Illinois. A er graduation, he attended Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama. Munchie had a passion for music from a young age. With an old soul, he loved to sing and dance, nding joy and expression in every note and movement. What he cherished most was rapping and writing, using his talent to create and share his unique voice with others. From an early age, Munchie was active in sports, enjoying baseball and bowling. Munchie was also involved in his church community at a young age. He participated in the youth choir and the step team. On May 21, 2020, he married his wife, Kaylen Taylor. is union blessed them with two children with an addition of two stepchildren. Munchie will be deeply missed. He was always the rst to speak and break the ice, quick to crack a joke that would leave us laughing and create lasting memories. And you can’t forget his keen sense of style. He was funny, charismatic, and a devoted family man. Munchie departed his life on Friday, July 5, 2024. Munchie was preceded in death by his grandfather, Taylor Gaston; great grandparents, Janie Mar Jackson, Hazel and Authur Brown, and Fred Cole. Munchie leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Kaylen Taylor; his two beautiful daughters, Laylani Taylor and Kehlani Taylor; his two beautiful stepdaughters, Skylar Davenport and Aubrey Davenport; mother, Camilla Pollock-Harris (and stepdad William); father, Leontrey C. Taylor, Sr. (and stepmom Cassie); his three sisters, Wilnasia Harris, London Taylor, Kimora Taylor; one brother, Keontay Taylor; two half-sisters, Lakia Pittman and Mary Haywood; two half-brothers, Teryon Pittman and Kaylan Owens; great grandmothers, Rose Taylor and Edna Cole; grandparents, Edna and Johnnie Pollock of Collinville, MS, and Deborah Taylor-Gaston of Indiana; three aunts, Lavita Taylor, Katrice Taylor, and Brandy Perkins (Demarkas); two uncles, Randle Gatson (Shedee) and Makell Gatson; and a host of great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins, friends, and family.
