Lorenzo James, Sr. affectionally known as “Big Red & Rennie” was born, in Chicago, IL to Carrie Hagler and Bennie James on January 29, 1955. He was the eldest of two children. His sister, Gail Washington preceded him, in death. Lorenzo attended Chicago Public Schools. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Holiness church under the leadership of Pastor Donald T. Coleman. Rennie was quiet, but forceful, which allowed him to fully walk in his calling as the head of the security department at Mt. Carmel. He was faithful to his work in the ministry and the position that he cherished until his health failed. Even then he still had a concern about how the work would be done without him. Rennie would help anyone and almost never refused to help. He loved his family and was loved and will be sorely missed. Lorenzo met and married Alice Freeman and Lorenzo James Jr. was born to this union. He later met Mary Harris and had three children, Mack Charles Harris, Lorenzo Harris, and Sabrina Harris. Rennie was ready and always willing to help family with moving to their next destination. Lorenzo James, Sr. is preceded in death by his parents Carrie Hagler, Bennie James, Lorenzo Harris, Mack Harris, Jr. Lorenzo James, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories his sons: Lorenzo (Michelle) James, Jr., Mack Harris, and daughter Sabrina Harris. Nine grandchildren: Lavonte, Jaylen, Syre, La’Mya, Jhamari, Jhaveon, Jhaqwez, Leneica & Narrianna. Two great-grandchildren Victor Jr. and Lavonte Jr. Four sisters Gloria, Desire, Lily Ann, and Geraldine. One brother Henry Hagler, Jr. Five aunts: Irene Murry, Maxine Ivy (Pastor Charles), Mary Helen Teague, Lillian Stan eld & Gloria (Mooie) Hardiman. Two nieces Sheena Washington, and Yashimura. One nephew Pastor Harold Washington, Jr. and a host of close family and friends.
