Lula Mae Craig born on September 4, 1934, in Butler County, Alabama. She was the proud daughter to the late Jim Ray and Eveline Cross-Ray. She was their only child. Lula attended Pinetop Elementary School in Greenville, Alabama. She later attended high school and relocated to Chicago, Illinois. In 1957, Lula married William Craig, Jr., and to this union four children were born. She accepted Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord, his word, and singing in the choirs of Reverend Leroy Jenkins and Benny Hinn. She was actively involved in several ministries until she joined Zoe Life Ministries under the leadership of Dr. John and Rosemary Abercrombie. She enjoyed praying for others and being a listening ear for all. Lula was a devoted home care nurse for over 30 years. She also cared for David Van Zandt’s children. Her hobbies included knitting, golfi ng, and telling stories about her grandmother Lula Cross. She loved taking trips to her favorite store, My Sister’s Closet. Lula was a stylish, sassy, classy dresser, and loved to keep her nails polished. Her favorite sayingwas “I shall not die, but live”. Lula was preceded in death by her husband, William Craig, Jr.; oldest daughter, Janice Johnson-Starks; son, Maurice Ray; and great-grandson, Deacon Erskine Boddy IV. Lula leaves cherish her memory: her four children, Valerie Craig, Karin Craig, and Eric Craig of Chicago, IL, and Deacon William Craig (Gwendolyn) of Orrville, OH; sister-in-love, Luelena Larry; brother-in-love, Roosevelt Craig; grandchildren, Evelyn Craig-Wallace (Curtis), Sheree Owens, Crystal Owens, Melanie Myers (Cornelius), Megan Releford (Jeff ery), Felica James, and Kia Eabron, Marshall Craig, Sr., Brandon Craig, William Craig III (Shelly), Marcus Craig (Lanny), and Michael Craig (Tricia); great-grandchildren, Enjoli’ Wright (Alonzo, Sr.), Alexis Boddy, Dominique Wallace, Krystle Boddy, Kayleigh Myers, Kaija Myers, Kayla Craig, Lenise Craig, Jalissa Craig, Leila Owens, Naomi Owens, Khloe Craig, Anthony Boddy, Sr. (Kayla), Isaiah Bougas, George Bougas, Devante Bridges, Cornelius Myers, Sharif Owens, Brayden Craig, and Marshall Craig, Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Alonah Wright, Ariona Wright, Alonzo Wright, Jr. , Armani Wright, Corey Jones, Jr., Anthony Boddy, Jr., Kaitlyn Boddy, AviYah Boddy, AhavaYah Boddy, Nicholas Bougas, Tristan Boddy, Soloman Bougas, and Michelle Bridges.
