Marcus Sanchez Stevens, affectionately known as “Rico” was born July 4, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois, to mother, Joyce Swift (Special Stepfather, Larry Swift), and father, Aubrey James Baskin (Wife, Faye Baskin). Marcus met and married Lakesha Brown and to this union, three children were born: James Stevens, Markesha Stevens, and Markayla Stevens. Marcus also has another son who was the oldest of his four children, Danien Walls, and one grandson, Ka’Marion Walls. Marcus accepted Christ at a very early age and he loved and acknowledged God, in all his ways. He joined Tabernacle Church of God in Christ under the leadership of James E. Stevens. Marcus attended Frasier Elementary School and Spalding High School. Marcus began his working career at the University of Illinois in Chicago, and he was a custodian at Greater Galilee Church. He later worked at LaGrange Single Living Home, until his health began to fail. Marcus was a loving son who honored his parents, and he was a loving father, grandfather, grandson, sibling, and uncle. Marcus enjoyed life to the fullest! He had a great sense of humor, and he loved singing, music, and helping others. His smile, loving kindness, laughter, and outgoing spirit will be missed by all of his loved ones and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Keith Antione Stevens and Jimmy Baskin, and grandmother, Nora Draggs.
