Margaret Moreland Obituary

MARGARET EVELYN KENNEDY MORELAND was born November 13, 1955, in Hill County, Texas, to both the late Rufus and Algrie Powell Kennedy. She received her initial education from the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, Texas, and nished at Je erson Moore High School in Waco, Texas. Her formal studies also include a trade certi cation from the Texas State Technical College (TSTC), previously known as the Texas State Technical Institute (TSTI) in Waco, Texas. Margaret confessed her life of salvation and was baptized at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ in Waco, Texas. She matured into a faithful and steadfast Christian and was even rebaptized under the leadership of Pastor Betty Starks of Loving Word Outreach Ministries in Darien, Illinois. In March of 1983, Margaret was united in marriage to her loving husband, Frank Moreland, Jr., in Waco, Texas. After the birth of their rst granddaughter, they decided to relocate to Willowbrook, Illinois, where she was a faithful and active member of Loving Word Outreach Ministries until her passing. She loved her family, yet did not sugarcoat anything. If you were doing wrong, she would correct you in a loving way. is tenderness she bestowed extended past her family as it drew many to call her “Mother” or “Aunty”. She was a beautiful person inside and had a talent for decorating and beautifying anything. Whether it was a room or a person, she could make something plain, look attractive, and brand new. She was a caring and dedicated mother to her daughter, April, and was a special and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Moreland, Jr., two sisters, Mary Ann Spratt and Ella Marie Lyons, one brother, Michael Kennedy, Sr., and a half sister, Trina Buhl. She leaves to cherish her memories: one devoted beautiful daughter: April Kennedy; three grandsons, Trechan Hickman, Chinedu Ameachi Ajoku, and Ikenna Ajoku; two granddaughters, Chiamaka Ameachi Ajoku, and Sarah Yirenkyi; one great grandson, Kairos Hickman; one brother, Rufus Kennedy (Debbie) of Tacoma, Washington; one sister, Rella Vanessa Leonard (Ronnie) of Waco, Texas; two half sisters, Dana Robinson (Joe) of Hillsboro, Texas, and Virginia Bales (Vamman) of Ft. Worth, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and friends
