Marquis Perry, Sr., was born on August 15, 1990 to his proud parents Wade (Keith) Turner Sr. and Marketta Perry. Marquis was preceded in death by his Grandparents Robert Perry Jr., Atlean Perry, & Wade Beasley Sr, Aunt Catherine Maclin, Uncle Jerome Jenkins and Father-in-Law Pastor Terrill Banks, Sr. Marquis Perry Sr. accepted Christ as His Savior at an early age at Lively Stone Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Williams Jenkins, Sr and lived his Christian faith throughout his life. He enjoyed expressing his love for the Lord by playing the drums. He was a devoted musician; he loved his church and his church family. Marquis Perry Sr. attended Fredrick Douglass Elementary School, Morton West High School, and Lincoln College where he received his Associate of Science Degree in Engineering. Marquis worked a variety of jobs which included Dominick’s, P&J Towing, Human Enhancement Adult Center, Comcast, RCN, Amazon, Aramark, and D.L. Perkins and Sons LLC. Marquis was multi-talented and gifted. He was a hardworking and determined man who took pride in building his TV mounting business “Thy Brother Mounts”, using his hands and skills to serve others and create something of his own. Marquis Perry Sr. had deeply rooted family values which was on display and quite evident. He was truly the life of the party. Marquis was full of laughter, energy, and a spirit that drew people wherever he went. His presence could light up any room. Whether he was cracking jokes, dancing, singing, or just simply enjoying the moment, he created memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His joy was contagious, and being around him was something people will forever cherish. On April 16th 2022, he married the love of his life Schakura Perry and they shared their love with each other for 13 years. He found his greatest love in his wife, the one who held his heart and stood beside him through life’s journey. Their bond was a true reflection of love, partnership, and commitment. He truly loved his wife. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with two sons Steven Chew and Marquis Perry Jr, who meant the world to him. He loved being a father and cherished every moment spent with his boys, whether laughing, talking, or simply enjoying each other’s presence. The time they shared together as a family created a lifetime of memories that will forever live on in their hearts. He leaves to cherish his memory: A devoted and loving wife, Schakura Perry; 2 children, Steven Chew (CJ) & Marquis Perry Jr (MJ); mother Marketta Perry; father Wade (Keith) Turner Sr. (Nikisha); grandmother Betty Moore; grandfather Jewel Jackson; brothers, Wade (Keith) Turner Jr, Martell Perry & Kejuan Saulsberry; aunts Barbara Williams (Derrick), Malonda Porter (Chris) and Patricia Jenkins; and uncle Richard Maclin; godmothers Claudia Moody and Lillie Wilkerson; mother-in-law Tonja Banks; 2 nieces, 4 nephews, and a host of great uncles, great aunts, cousins, friends and his church families New Fellowship and Lively Stone.
