Marva White Obituary

MARVA ANN WHITE was born on August 30, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, to the union of Frank Lee Carpenter and Luellen Carpenter. Both parents proceeded her in death. Believing in Christ as her personal savior at an early age, Marva joined St. Matthews AME Church under the leadership of Reverend Jimmie L.  orne. She later recommitted her life to Christ and joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Jimmie L. Daniels, where she remained until her health began to fail. Marva received her education through the Argo Community school system. She received her diploma from Argo Community High School. In 1969, Marva met the love of her life, Henry Leon White, Jr. (a.k.a Crow) - they were later married.  eir union was blessed with two beautiful girls, Erica White and Debra White. She was also a bonus mom to Shauntina McGill, whom she loved like her own. Marva and Henry also raised Latashae White, their granddaughter, as their own. Henry preceded her in death. Marva was employed in various industries, Lever Brothers and Summit Park District being two of them. When she was not working, Marva enjoyed spending time with her family,  shing, bowling, so ball, playing cards, skating, and many other activities. Marva was the life of the party; you could always catch her with a smile and a joke. Marva loved to dress, and you would always see her with her own personal style and  air. Marva loved all her grandkids and great-grandkids, and they loved their “GG.” On November 6, 2024, Marva was called to begin living her eternal life in Heaven. Marva was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank Lee Carpenter, Jr., Shannon Carpenter, Rinda Jean, and Barbara Go n. Marva leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Erica White of Oak Park, IL, Debra White of Katy, TX, and Shauntina McGill of Savannah GA; two brothers, Kenneth Carpenter of Chicago, IL, and Kier (Kim) Carpenter of Shorewood, IL; two sisters, Dorene Larue of Chicago, IL, and Karen Cooper of Summit, IL; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ashanti, Chris, Pierre, Caprice, Latashae (Christopher) McGee, Henry, Tationa, Keion, Kalob, Nakorrie, Michael, Naveah, London, Daunte, Weston, Amya, Cainan, Cassius, Kamran, Jr., and Alec (aka. BA); a great-grandbaby on the way; uncle, Eddie D. Ghess of Boston, MA; aunts, Pearline White of Summit, IL, and Amelia Washington of Pickens; and a host of friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
