Melvin Price

Melvin Eugene “Larry” Price was born January 5, 1952, to Katherine Johnson-Price and Robert C. Price. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and was raised in Chicago, Illinois, with his thirteen siblings: Robert Price, Marlin Price-Anderson, Willie Jerome Price, Emily Price, Stephanie Price-Dillard, Terry Price, Carol Price-Martin, Paul Price, Margaret Price, Catherine Price, Colletta Price-Pigram, Levell Price, and Marvella Price. Melvin attended and graduated from Farragut High School on the west side of Chicago. Melvin furthered his education by attending programs at the City Colleges of Chicago before beginning his career as an insurance salesman. Melvin was proud to be a licensed insurance professional in all lines and obtained his license to sell securities. Melvin led a life full of connections. Through insurance sales, he met hundreds of people throughout the city that remember him for his professionalism and dedication to his work. He knew someone everywhere he went. He was known for his great sense of humor, love of music, movies, and Chicago sports, and his impeccable fashion sense. Outside of his career, Melvin was a proud and loving husband and father. Melvin and Therese “Terri” married on May 28, 1994 at “The Little White Chapel” in Las Vegas, Nevada. From this union they had one wonderful daughter, Valerie Imani Price. He is survived by his wife, Therese “Terri” Williams-Price; daughter, Valerie Imani Price; siblings, Terry Price, Catherine “Rita” Price, Colletta Price, and Margaret Price; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
