In loving memory of Michael Thompson, son of Alfort T. Thompson and Willa Mae Boston.
Mike was born on April 23, 1959, and raised on the west side of Chicago. He graduated from Whitney Young High School in 1978. Mike loved to play sports and had various trophies in basketball, bowling, and baseball.
In Mike’s early twenties, he began working at VA Hines hospital in data processing. He retired in 2014 after 33 years of dedication. Although Mike could no longer play sports after retirement, he loved to watch them. He also had a love for cooking shows and was a great cook.
Mike departed life on July 17, 2023, at his home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willa Mae Boston; father, Alfort T. Thompson; stepfather, Eddie Boston, Sr.; and brother, Alfort Thompson.
Mike leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Jayne; two grandchildren, Mia and Marlin; sisters, Mary and Dorothy; brothers; Eddie and Earl; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, an uncle, and other loving family and friends.
