Minnie Mae Walker-Childs was born September 18, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, to the union of Odies D. Walker and Callie Walker. She was the youngest daughter of eight children. She was preceded in death by her son, Arcine D. Goodlow; her mother; her father; and six siblings, Sudie Jean Pierce, Henry Finley, Jr., Leroy Walker, Sr., Jimmy Walker, Johnny Walker, and Willie Walker. She was married to Rodouglas Goodlow at the age of 18 and later remarried Frank Childs. She had a passion for helping and loving others throughout her journey. Her knowledge and love for God gave her the ability to make a big impact on everyone who crossed her path. Whether she knew you for fifty minutes or fifty years, she would not leave without saying, “I love you, baby.” She loved to laugh, dance, and read her bible. Music was a form of her therapy. She loved people unconditionally and with everything in her. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She pursued her passion in accounting and banking. Later, she decided to be devoted to raising her four children and assisting with her grandchildren. Minnie Mae leaves to cherish her memory: her only daughter, Candice F. Childs; sons, Shawn Goodlow and Troy M. Goodlow; grandchildren, Jayla M. Childs, Kiylen D. Acklin, Preston J. Goodlow-Madrigal, Len E. Acklin, Jr., and Kandace N. Acklin; one loving sister, Evangelist Marsha Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly
