ANNIE PEARL YOUNG was born on October 2, 1945, to the late Walter and Piccola Young in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. She received her formal education at Marshall High School in Chicago, Illinois. Pearl Young later became a certified nursing assistant (CNA).
Pearl accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She united with the Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Graham. In February of 2010, Pearl joined Thompson Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Leroy Bridgeforth. She was a faithful servant; Pearl came in, rolled up her sleeves, and began working. She became missionary elect under the leadership of our present pastor, Dr. Torrence T. Ivy, Sr. Pearl continued walking in her calling.
Pearl worked for Zenith and several nursing facilities. She also worked at Lakeshore Nursing Facility until she retired.
Pearl Young departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Young; mother, Piccola Young; brother, Ozell Young; sisters, Ava Young and Waldene Young; and two great-nieces, Kenisha Young and Jaquisha Carr.
Pearl leaves to cherish her memory: brothers, Walter C. (Ruby) Young and Percy Lee Young; sisters, Mary Young, Yvonne Young, and Eva Young; sons, Walter Young and Reginald Young; daughters, Rosalind Young and Teresa Welch; ten grandchildren, Brandon, Vanity, Lavelle, Mario, Courtney, Reginald Jr., Randy, Vanessa, Mercedes, and Reiyn; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends
