Mose Evans

Mose Evans was born the third child of his late
parents, Fred and Reller Evans, on February 6, 1946, in Benton
County, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Sandra Evans; six brothers: Othy B. Evans, Sylvester Maxwell,
James A. Evans, Lee Andrew Evans, Roosevelt Evans, and
Calvin Clyde Evans; and one sister, Mary Ann Evans.
Mose “Moe” was baptized at an early age at Hebron Missionary
Baptist Church in Michigan City, Mississippi. Mose moved
from Mississippi to Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 16. There, he
married his longtime girlfriend, Sandra Webber. He worked
until retirement at General Motors Corporation. He enjoyed
traveling and enjoying retired life.
Mose “Moe” departed this life on Wednesday, December 17,
2025, at his home in Chicago, Illinois.
Mose “Moe” leaves to mourn his passing: three children: two
daughters, Qrondee and Tarjas; and one son, Darrell; five
siblings: Margaret Evans, Odessa Cannady, Linda Evans,
Curtis Evans, all of Memphis, Tennessee, and Jimmy Dale
Evans of Lamar, Mississippi; and a very special cousin, Mary
Doris Evans, who was like a sister to him; three aunts, Susie
McKinnie of Michigan City, Mississippi, Marie Fullmore of
Detroit, Michigan, and Nola B. Evans of Memphis, Tennessee.
He also leaves five grandchildren: Desmond Evans of Arizona,
Cortney Reedy (Mercedes) of Los Angeles, California, Mariah,
Diamond, and Darrell; three great-grandchildren, Damarion,
Dahmani, Baby Amyiah; and a host of other family members,
neighbors, and close friends.
