The state of Mississippi was experiencing a rare snowfall on March 6, 1954, when Mom, Anita Perkins, and Dad, Nathaniel Robinson, Sr., were birthing a son in Inverness, Mississippi. His parents named him NATHANIEL ROBINSON, JR., also was a ectionately known as “JUNEBUG.” Junebug was the seventh of 14 children which consisted of seven girls and seven boys. He was preceded in death by both his mom and dad; four sisters, Doris, Bobbie Jean, Dorothy (Doll), and Ernestine; and one brother, Sammy Lee. Junebug attended Manley High School. He worked as a laborer in construction. He was good in carpentry and plumbing. He also worked many years as a custodial engineer and enjoyed being a bartender. ere were quite a lot of hobbies that gave him much pleasure such as the racetrack, shing, cooking, and baking. Although he wasn’t a member of a church, he believed in and loved the Lord. As life progressed, he met his soulmate, Connie Williams, who was the love of his life. As time passed, they knew they had to become one. Junebug proposed to Connie and when she accepted there was one stipulation: he had to promise that he would continue cooking. To their union they were blessed with seven wonderful children: Reese (Robin) Tate of Seattle, WA, Vernell (Christina) Brock of South Bend, IN, Derrick (Erica) Williams and Darren Williams, both of Chicago, IL, Dawanna (Phillip) Williams of Hopemills, NC, Vernon Williams of Chicago, IL (close friend, LaTonia O’Neal), and the late Vincent Bryant Williams; fteen grandchildren, Lazerrick, Erica, Christopher, Vernesha, Marlon, Latrice, (late Dericka), Derrick, Jerrick, Dajay, Quavelin, Destiny, Jonathan, Jarvis and Vernisha and a host of great grandkids, nephews, in-laws. and friends. Junebug was an awesome husband. He loved his wife. When you saw one you saw the other. He held many additional titles: father, brother, granddad, father-in-law, brother-in law, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was exceptional in ALL his roles, just ask his nephews and nieces. ey all loved Uncle Junebug. He will always be known for his contagious laugh, his gift of listening, and for having your back.
