Odell Bradford was born in Marvell, Arkansas, on August 11, 1946, to William Bradford and Ruby Grigsby. Odell has always been one of a kind, always talking smack and didn’t care what came out of his mouth, but what we cherished the most was how he took care of his kids and his grandchildren. Odell was converted at an early age at Tucker’s Grove Baptist Church in Marvell, Arkansas, where he also attended Marvell High School. Odell moved to Chicago in his late teens or early twenties. He worked at R&D School Bus Company and Amoco Gas Station. For years, you could nd him sitting on the side on a crate greeting you with a smile saying, “Hey.” He leaves behind to always cherish his memories: his children, Katherine, Deon, and Tykesha; grandchildren, Deondra, Dnyla, Deanna, Devion, Dazariah, Shakira, Keshawn, Kejuan, Derick, and Danari; and siblings, Erma, Arour, James, and Allen (Willie). He was preceded in death by his father, Williams Bradford; mother, Ruby Johnson; and brother, Lanzie Davis. Odell departed this life on the early morning of April 29, 2024, living his life the best he knew how. He told us when it was his time that he didn’t want no fussing or crying and not to spend a lot of money because he ain’t got no money
