ORA LEE DYES was born on Tuesday, August 13, 1946, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to proud parents Mary Elizabeth JacksonDyes and Willie James Dyes. She was the ninth of ten children, arriving right behind her loving twin brother, Eddie Lee Dyes. Ora accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. In 1960, Ora relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where she met Roosevelt Williams, and together they had six beautiful children. Ora received her high school diploma from Crane High School, and shortly a er, she began her career at LA-Co Industries, where she dedicated over 30 years of service before retiring in 2013. Demonstrating great love for her family, Ora poured every ounce of her being into nurturing her children. Despite embarking on many journeys, she remained a faithful servant of God and was a dedicated member of New Rock of Ages M. B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Anderson. Living the majority of her life on the Westside of Chicago, Ora made many friends and was loved and respected by her neighbors. However, it was when she moved to Heritage Housing during her later years that she embraced a whole new family through her love for casinos, bingo, keno, and traveling.
