Pamela Loretta Hamilton was born on December 6, 1949, to Mildred Elaine and Eugene Hamilton in Charleston, Missouri. One of thirteen children, the family eventually left and settled in Chicago, Illinois. Pam attended school in Chicago where she graduated from Marshall High School. After high school, she entered the workforce and married her first husband, Barry Linnell Hayes. This union brought about six children (three girls and three boys). She raised her children to love family, God, and music (emphasis on the music). While raising her family, she expressed her love of learning by enrolling into a business college, where she earned her associate’s degree. Pam met and married her second husband, Curtis Johnson. This union brought about her seventh child. As a mother, she instilled in her children to always do the right thing and care for each other. Her love and care for family was a mainstay throughout her life, and her sense of community was just as important. She wore many hats: sister, wife, mother, auntie, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Pam was a hard worker, maintaining a job at CYC and later at Harris Bank until she relocated and settled in Burnsville, Minnesota, in 2003. Here, she worked for Best Buy Corporate Headquarters until she retired. She maintained her connection to Chicago, visiting family often. She enjoyed her love of reading, God, family, music, and a good family and friend get together. On November 9, 2024, Pam left this world surrounded by those that loved her. Pam reunited in eternity her mother, Mildred Elaine; father, Eugene Hamilton; sisters, Monyette Miller and Sharon Sinks; brothers, Pete Pettigrew, and William, Galen, and Mark Hamilton; granddaughter, Ja’Kyah Hayes; and greatgranddaughter, Elayah Patterson. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: siblings, Michael Hamilton (Bea), Randolph Hamilton, Eugenia Hamilton (Howard), Abigail Hamilton, Deirdre Hamilton, and Terrance Hamilton; children, Maurice Hayes (Delfonda), Yolanda Hayes, Rhonda Hayes, Jason Hayes, Jon Hayes, Sharon Hayes, and Josiah Johnson; twenty
