“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away”. — Revelation 21:4 PERCY COLLINS, JR., was born on December 21st, 1950, in Berwyn, Illinois, to Percy Collins, Sr., and Estella Elizabeth (Clay) Collins. He was the rst-born son to this union, along with a brother and four sisters. Two sisters, Eartha and Rosemary, and one brother Darius, along with his parents preceded him in death. Percy confessed a belief in Christ at the age of nine at the Second Baptist Church of LaGrange, where his family attended faithfully under the leadership of the late Pastor J.W.R. Owens. He later joined Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park under the leadership of Dr. Bill Winston, until his health began to fail. He was educated in the public school system of LaGrange, Illinois, Cossitt Elementary School, and Lyons Township High School. He continued his education at Triton College, achieving an Associate Degree in Applied Science. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for four years receiving an honorable discharge, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Sharpshooter (M-16 RIFLE) Commendation. In 1974, Percy was united in Holy Matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Brenda L. Dockery. To this union, two sons were born: Okphara LaDarris and Percy III. Okphara LaDarris preceded him in death. He was family oriented and loved spending time with his son, supporting him in every endeavor. He attended his varies sports games, volunteered with the Cub Scouts, participated in his school activities, and created a photo journal of his life. Percy was a health and tness enthusiast. He was passionate about physical activity, particularly jogging. His overall well-being encompassed a true Holistic Life Approach.
