Renee Doris Booker was born April 22, 1966 to her loving parents, Eugene Booker and Doris Booker, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the second youngest of five siblings. She was also the only girl of her immediate family. She had four brothers, Larry Booker, Bruce Parker, Tyrone Booker and Lamont Booker. From them, she gained her tenacious spirit. Her family originated from the South, Clark, Mississippi, Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee. In Renee’s own words, her mother was very loving and intelligent. Her father was a laborer and he was extremely hard working. Her parents met through her father’s first cousin, Marie Taylor. They fell in love almost immediately and Eugene knew right away that he would marry Doris and they would have kids together. Renee admired the love that her parents had for each other. Renee had ten (10) children of her own: Tiasha Winchester, Michael Booker, Henderson Banks, Shaquanah Banks, Monique Banks, James Lewis and Malik Booker. She is preceded in death by three (3) of her children, Aaron Banks, James Lewis and Cinyre Sanchez. Renee received her high school diploma from the reputable Calumet High School in Chicago, IL. She was always adventurous and lived three years of her life in Munich, Germany with her children, Tiasha Winchester and Henderson Banks. Renee was a free spirit. She found peace even in the most difficult of circumstances. She was an amazing cook. You could show up to her house on any given day and be greeted with the smell and aroma of a southern home cooked meal, made with love. She maintained a high level of energy, which was infectious. It was not uncommon to come around her feeling down and leave in a better mood just from spending time with her. She was very outspoken, outgoing and EXTREMELY transparent. Put in its simplest form, if she had something on her mind, you were going to hear about! No matter what your title was or who you were, she was going to let you know if you said or did something she did not agree with. Renee was resilient. It is no secret that she faced many obstacles and challenges throughout her life, but despite that she found a way to survive through being positive and resourceful. To her children, Renee was a sense of strength and hope and through them, her legacy will live on. She constantly reminded her children that she loved them and that she was proud of them. She always taught them to love one another and to always stick together. She instilled in them the same level of fearlessness that she exhibited throughout her life even in the most challenging of times. Renee was a great listener and she was always able to provide encouragement, wisdom and comfort when you might need it the most. She had a deep relationship with God. Very often, she would spontaneously break out in prayer and call on the name of God. She would always pray and would often “speak in tongue.” Through her relationship with God, she found her source of strength. Renee had a very strong personality. She was confident and comfortable with who she was. You could never put her in a room full of people and without her presence being known. She loved to dye her hair different, vibrant colors. Colors that would match her personality. Her favorite hair color was dark blue black, and that is how she will be laid to rest. She had a deep love for music. She would always take any random sentence during a conversation and turn it into a song. A song that would make you laugh and uplift your spirits. There is no doubt that she is the lead singer in God’s heavenly choir as we speak. At an early age of 57, Renee Doris Booker departed this life on Saturday, June 24, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Eugene Booker and grandson, Trevonni Winchester.
