Royce McElroy was born on April 19, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was raised in a well-grounded, family value-oriented household headed by his father and mother, Roderick and Florida Sullivan, who both proceeded him in death. Royce was well-learned in the values of hard work ethic, attention to detail, family rst, and “to thine own self be true”. Royce was the eldest child of 6 siblings. He was baptized at an early age. He attended Presentation Grammar School and Austin High School. He was employed at David Berg, Schwartz Pickle Co., Ada S. McKinley, Paragon Paper Box Co., and a few other places. Royce was a dedicated employee wherever he worked. He was always on time and rarely absent from any of his work locations. He worked diligently for many years until his health limited his ability to continue as a hardworking, dedicated employee. Royce was known as the neighborhood Candy Man. He had a special love for the community where he lived, ensuring that everyone had a treat from the snowball stand which he meticulously assembled daily. Even when some of the patrons were short on funds, Royce ensured that no one le the snowball stand without a delectable treat. He was well respected by his friends and family members. Royce was a very benevolent individual. He was always giving of himself and of his personal belongings to make others happy. A very joyous and crowning moment in the life of Royce came as he was united in Holy Matrimony to Lisa D. on June 20th at 6:20 p.m., in the year of our Lord 2014. Lisa remained by Royce’s side through the good times and the health challenges that ultimately caused him to be called home by the Heavenly Father. {
