Ruth Davis-Ward Obituary

Ruth Davis-Ward was born on June 6, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, to L. T. Rogers and the late Jimmie Roger, Sr. She attended Josphinum Academy of the Sacred Heart High School, graduating in 1979. Ruth was united in holy matrimony in 1979 to the late Daryl A. Davis, who preceded her in death in 1986. To this union, four beautiful children were born, Jeneene, Lawrence, Leonard, and Randy. Later in life, Ruth met and was remarried to Victor Ward in 1994. Ruth gave her life to Christ and became a member of New Smyrna Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Jacob A. Pickett, Jr. Ruth’s employment included the U. S. Postal Service, Century Theater, and Illinois Childcare Provider. Ruth was a beautiful and amazing woman, mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. She touched so many people’s lives in such a positive and loving way. She was very caring and compassionate towards not only her family but anyone in need. Ruth was preceded in death by her grandmother, Helen Brown; aunt, Willa Mae Brown; aunt, Rosie Marshbanks; uncle, L. A. Brown; and sister, Annette Price. Ruth leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Victor Ward; children, Jeneene Brown, Lawrence Brown, Leonard Brown (Regenia), and Randy Brown (Tianna); grandchildren, Aja Warren, Tayvon Carroll, Octavia Carroll, Demarius Brown, Trent Somogyi Brown, William Brown, Leah Brown, Leona Brown, Leanne Brown, and King David Brown; mother, L. T. Rogers; brothers, Michael Rogers and Jimmie Rogers, Jr. (Patrice); uncle, John H. Brown (Deidra); aunt, Diane Williams-Kidd; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
