and assisted the students with the transition from elementary to high
school. In 2017, Shikenda went to work for Chicago public schools.

assisted with scholarship applications, coached the track team, and so
many other tasks. Shikenda motivated the students in every aspect;
she instilled in the students to never give up, trust the process, to be
educated, and to always believe in themselves.
A MOTHER’S LOVE!!!
‘
Shikenda was the proud mother of two special needs children.
Shikenda felt her children were perfect, and she treated them as such.
Shikenda knew the hard work, time, and effort she would have to put
into her kids, and she did it without hesitation. Shikenda would take
her children on family trips. Shikenda did mommy and me dates
weekly with them. Shikenda made sure each of her children knew how
much she loved and cared for them.
Shikenda loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved
to dance, sing, and play cards. Shikenda was unproblematic, reliable,
dependable, loving, and caring. She was a problem solver and knew
how to make a way out of no way. She had a personality that was
unmatched. Always there, always willing to help, always one phone
