Stephanie Brown Perry Obituary

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.” ~ Proverbs 31:26 NKJ The Grand Finale for Stephanie Larnette Brown Perry Stephanie Larnette Brown Perry, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, mentor, and friend, was born on January 28, 1971, as the third child and cherished daughter of Elder Larnie and Missionary Bernice Brown. Raised in a devout Christian home, Stephanie’s faith, talents, and boundless spirit were lovingly nurtured by her dedicated parents, shaping the remarkable woman she became. A Life of Dedication and Learning Stephanie’s love for education began at St. Catherine-St. Lucy School, where she built a strong foundation for learning that would shape her future. A proud graduate of Lane Technical High School, she pursued higher education at Benedictine University, earning both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a concentration in mathematics. Certified to teach grades K-12, Stephanie was a compassionate and exceptional educator, particularly skilled in supporting special education students and those struggling with mathematics. Stephanie’s dedication to her students was evident in her work at Naperville North and Naperville Central High Schools in Naperville, Illinois, where she inspired countless learners. She also served as a substitute teacher at Socorro Sandoval Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois, and extended her influence to other schools and programs, sharing her passion for teaching and fostering a lifelong love of learning in her students. Beyond her role as an educator, Stephanie was a gifted writer and artist who expressed her creativity through poems, songs, and plays. Under the brand Glorious Greetings, her celebrated play, “Herod the Great,” featuring an original score, premiered on March 8, 2014, to great acclaim. The production showcased her incredible talent, creativity, and ability to captivate audiences with a phenomenal cast and compelling storytelling. Stephanie’s creative brilliance was not limited to her writing. She had an extraordinary gift for bringing life to the ordinary through her vivid imagination and storytelling. Whether inspired by the beauty of nature, the laughter of children, or even during moments of illness, Stephanie could transform the mundane into something extraordinary. Her quick wit, vibrant narratives, and insightful observations entertained and inspired everyone around her, sparking creativity and a renewed sense of wonder in both children and adults. Stephanie’s boundless imagination and heartfelt creations left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. A Journey of Love At just 17 years old, Stephanie met the love of her life and forever person, Mr. Timothy Perry. From that moment, they built a beautiful partnership filled with laughter, shared adventures, and a joy that radiated throughout their families. At the age of 52, Stephanie and Timothy embarked on one of her greatest journeys: marriage, uniting their hearts in a bond rooted in love, faith, and unwavering companionship. Their relationship was a true testament to hope and happiness, reflecting the special, enduring love that God—Stephanie’s first love—placed in her heart for Timothy. Together, they exemplified a love that inspired everyone around them.

A Life Anchored in Faith and Loyalty Stephanie’s faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. Her love for God was instilled in her from birth. Born on a pew, Stephanie’s life revolved around the church, where she developed a deep love for God and the values that guided her journey. She learned to trust God completely, believing wholeheartedly in His love and sovereignty. Over the years, Stephanie served faithfully in many roles. At Chance Ministries she served as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, theatrical director, and as the world’s “greatest” Tenor. Stephanie’s musical gifts were nurtured early, with her sister, Carla, teaching three-part harmony to their family as children. This foundation paved the way for Stephanie’s unmatched talent as a tenor. Her voice graced every choir she joined, from the Pentecostal church of her upbringing to the nontraditional churches she later attended. Whether singing traditional gospel hymns, contemporary Christian music, or “back-home” Baptist anthems, her smooth, unique sound left an indelible mark. Stephanie’s singing was not just a performance but a heartfelt expression of worship, inspiring and uplifting all who had the privilege to hear her. Celebration of Life Stephanie’s celebration of life is a testament to the immense love she gave and received throughout her journey. She cherished her siblings deeply, and their bond was built on love, unwavering support, and joyful moments of playful banter, affectionately referred to as “playing the dozens.” Stephanie proudly reigned as the “Signifying Queen,” bringing laughter and warmth to their shared moments. This unique connection created a foundation of love that strengthened their family ties and left an enduring legacy of unity. Though Stephanie had no biological children, her selfless sacrifices and boundless love blessed her with many children of the heart: Dwight, Earianna, Ealexis, Earl, and Justus. She also shared a remarkable bond with her nieces, nephews, and a host of godchildren, who adored her adventurous and exciting spirit. Stephanie had a unique ability to make each one feel truly special, creating cherished memories and lasting bonds they will treasure forever. Stephanie was equally embraced by Timothy’s family, who loved and accepted her as more than just his wife but as a cherished and integral part of their family. She wasn’t merely an in-law; she was an “in-love”—loved and cared for as though she had always been theirs to treasure. Beloved by Family and Community Stephanie departed this life on December 31, 2024, at the age of 53. She will be sorely missed by the surviving members of her family.
