STEPHANIE DENISE ERVIN-KINGS was born December 28, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, to Myrtle Ervin and the late Vester Partee. Stephanie was the baby of seven children, three of which preceded her in death, Frank Edwards, Juanita Ervin and JoAnn Ervin. Stephanie attended and graduated from Marshall High School with all honors. Right a er high school she was hired to work for the state of Illinois as a secretary for DCFS. Stephanie later attended National Louis University and obtained an Associate’s degree in social work. A couple of years into her journey she went back to college and obtained her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree. Brown Sugar, as she was a ectionately called, was very big on family and loved being around her loved ones. She had a smile that would literally light up any room. If you ever had a chance to be around Stephanie, you would instantly feel her love and grace. She had the most beautiful smile that just warms your heart. Her spirit was so peaceful. She had the sweetest heart you can imagine and loved everyone. Stephanie was truly a blessing to all family and friends, as well as a very happy person. On Monday, June 17, 2024, at 9:15 AM, surrounded by her loving family Stephanie and her free-spirited heart, received her reward from Earth to glory. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Frederick Kings; mother, Myrtle Ervin; three children, Brittny Ervin, Malik Harper, and Juanita Smith; one stepdaughter, Jasmine Kings; two stepsons, Jerome Kings and Jerod Kings; three grandchildren, Desire McCullough, Kaylie Kings, and Malik Harper, Jr.; three siblings, Mary McCullough, Cleveland Edwards, and Gregory Ervin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
