Theodore Capleton

Theodore Capleton, also known as “Teddy,” was born on March 6, 1959, to his beloved late parents, Doretha and Raymond. Teddy accepted Christ at an early age. He joined St. Mark AME Church where he was baptized and served as a choir member under the leadership of the late Reverend Joseph Sharp. Teddy had a passion for music and became a DJ where he was given the nickname, “DJ Terrible Ted.” He was a part of a music group called the Spidells. Teddy was a phenomenal DJ, promoter, recording engineer, and remixer, producing at the number one radio show on WVA3, V103, as well as for the Friday Night Steppers set in the greater Chicago area. He also was serving as a graphic designer at Pronto Printing as well as a hair stylist. Teddy attended Westing House High School where he graduated in 1977 and went on to Devry Institute, majoring in electrical engineering. Those who will cherish his memories are his special friend, Janice; children, Nakia (Nick), Ian, and Tavonta; bonus children, Shawn, Frank, Hamosa, and T’Querris; brother, Samuel, who preceded him in death; sisters, Althea and Alisa; Teddy also leaves to cherish: his grandchildren, one special, Giggi; great grandchild; special nephew, Larry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
