Tityra Stanton Obituary

Tityra Caressa Cobbins was born on May 17, 1974, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the second of three girls born from the union of Robert Lee Cobbins and Cardelia Cobbins-Redmond. As a young child, she loved barbie and baby dolls and always dreamt of having a large family. She was given the name Tippy by her dad who carried her everywhere. Her shoes and boots never touched the ground. She was affectionally called Caressa by family and friends. Caressa accepted Christ at an early age of Hopewell P.B. Church of the late Bishop Elder D.W. Patton. She used her angelic voice worshipping Christ in the choir. She attended McKinley Elementary in Bellwood and Proviso West in Hillside. Caressa always valued education and later received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Benedictine University in Lisle. Caressa married her high school sweetheart and mothered three children, Briana, Tania, and Jaelen. In 1998 she met the love of her life Sebasian Stanton. These love birds got married on a date set aside for love on February 14th. This union birthed three additional children to their family, Trinity, Caleb, and Justin. Caressa and her family joined Living Word Christian Center under the leadership of Senior Pastor Bill Winston. Caressa Stanton fulfilled her dream of having a big family. She loved cooking for her family and enjoyed shopping with her sisters during the holidays. The holidays were her favorite time of the year, in which her three Christmas trees would be up by November 1. Caressa loved a great sale and was a couponing queen. She enjoyed quality time with family which included Disney vacations, birthday parties, barbeques, cousins days, and anything family related. Their home stayed filled with love and laughter from her ten grandchildren. Caressa had a smile that touched so many. Her laugh, smile, and beauty would light the room. Caressa was a strong woman of faith who stayed in constant prayer for everyone. Caressa leaves to cherish her memories in spirit: her devoted husband, Sebastian Stanton; their six children, Briana (DraKarr) Williams, Tania Bonner, Jalen (Lisette) Bonner, Trinity Stanton, Caleb Stanton, and Justin Stanton; one step-son, Kyle Smith; their ten grandchildren, LaMiyah, DraKarr, Jr., Taylor, Norbella, Nolan, Norvelle, Athena, Knowledge, Royce, and Matteo, with one baby girl on the way; her loving mother, Cardelia (John) Cobbins-Redmond; father-in-law, Jessie McKennie; sisters, SyDonna (Loren) Williams and LaKeysha Cobbins; godsister, Shante Barnes; two brothers-in-law, Maurice and Shelby Stanton; nieces and nephews, Jasmine, Ashley, Tony, and Aaron; her two great-nephews, Jeremiah and Alijah; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Caressa made her transition on Monday, November 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Lee Cobbins, affectionally known as Doll; mother-in-law, Civerlain Stanton; and grandparents, Thruman and Bernice Patton, and Willie and Martha Cobbins. Caressa’s sweet, sassy, and loving sprit will forever live on in our hearts.
