Walter Lee Mitchell Jr

Walter Lee Mitchell, Jr., was born to Walter Lee Mitchell, Sr., and Dora Mitchell in Belzoni, Mississippi, on September 15, 1963. Walter accepted Christ at an early age at Douglas Park Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Walter attended Crown Elementary and Farragut High School on the westside of Chicago where his parents  rst resided a er relocating from Belzoni, Mississippi. Walter later worked for Meyer Steel Drum alongside his father and later Bethany Hospital. Walter held several jobs during his life before becoming disabled. He was a charming and humorous person who loved his family and friends who would agree also that he was always in the mood for a good joke or a song. Walter made his transition on Saturday June 8, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee Mitchell, Sr., and Dora Mitchell; sister, Walterine Groves; and a very special companion, Barbara OHale. Walter leaves to cherish his memories: two siblings, Herbert (Maxine) Jackson, Blue Island, Illinois, and Denise Mitchell, Chicago, Illinois; one Godbrother, Michael (Mike) Jones, Chicago, Illinois; one Goddaughter, Andrea Johnson, Chicago, Illinois; a longtime family friend, Ricky Holmes; and a very dear friend, Henry Sandifer;  ve nieces; three nephews; two great-nieces; seven great-nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
